What is MyCAL?
We want to dream big but also need the practical tools to make our dreams into reality.
Goals:
1: Connect high school students with Local Industry Experts and Educators to learn more about professions of interest and educational opportunities.
2: Connect Everyone. Provide an Easy-Access Resource Center for local Internships and local job opportunities. Help high school kids experience real work environments.
Not everyone has well connected parents who can network their kids into killer opportunities. Not all kids know how to hunt for these great opportunities.
3: Leadership training for students by students. We want to grow MyCal by giving everyone the opportunity to take a leadership role. Any motivated leader can get involved.
If our generations is going to make real change in this world, we need our very best minds connected to the very best opportunities.
How Students Get Involved?
- Start WeAreMyCal at your school
- Create an “Expert Workshop” by selecting a profession you are most interested in and asking those professionals to come and educate students on what they do. This can lead to valuable internship opportunities and help you start networking and making connections with real professionals at a young age.
- Our goal is to implement creative, cutting-edge, interactive leadership training for high school and college students in every city in California. We hope to create a network of future leaders across the state who are trained in the methodologies of local leadership and arm us all with the knowledge to take action and make a difference.
How Experts Get Involved?
- Participate in an “Expert Workshop” sign up to be a guest speaker and talk to curious young minds about your profession.
- Create a video we can post - If your busy schedule won't permit time to come in person, we still want to learn from you!! CONTACT US and we would love to assist you in creating an informational video that we can post
